The Toronto Maple Leafs visited the famous Madison Square Garden on Thursday night to conclude their regular season against the New York Rangers.
Both teams were hopeful for a long playoff run in the Eastern Conference.
During the game, Leafs forward William Nylander attempted to pick the puck off Rangers forward Alexis Lafreniere, but ended up receiving a penalty after Lafreniere did his best diving impression, which would have made any Senators forward Tim Stutzle proud.
Brutal Call on Nylander
Nylander was penalized for 2 minutes in what was possibly the worst call of the season, and I'm not saying this as a Leaf fan. Nonetheless,
Nylander had a good night and managed to score his 40th goal of the season, helping the Leafs finish the regular season on a high note with a big win.
Overall, it was a good night for Nylander and Leafs Nation as they head into the playoffs looking to finally make it past the first round.
