While most Maple Leafs fans are looking for the team to improve defensively and in net over the summer, the fact that they tallied just 12 goals in seven games can't be ignored, as the offense needs a major boost. Bringing back the likes of Max Domi and Tyler Bertuzzi will help, as well as an expanded role for Matthew Knies, but insider David Pagnotta has revealed a name the Maple Leafs should target in free agency.
That would be veteran Viktor Arvidsson, the 31-year old that played in just 18 games for the Los Angeles Kings a season ago. When healthy however, Arvidsson is still a major goal scoring threat, as he has seasons of 31, 29 and 26 goals in the three seasons of his career that he has played in over 70 games.
Sure, the health would be a concern for Toronto, but they lacked major goal scoring threats in the playoffs, and if they can address their needs on the blue line and in net while adding a player like Arvidsson on a cheap deal in free agency, it would be a major boost to their Stanley Cup hopes for the 2024-25 season.
