It has been quite the offseason for the Toronto Maple Leafs this summer with signing new additions such as Ryan Reaves, Tyler Bertuzzi, John Klingberg, and Max Domi.

But now, they are dealing with some other issues within their longtime superstars, but an insider has reported some details.

Nylander Extension Tricky But Possible

Insider David Pagnotta has reported that flashy young forward William Nylander has an especially high asking price for his extension, including the longevity of the deal.

Nylander is looking for the full 8 year term with the Leafs, which lets fans know about his commitment to stay in Toronto. But one downfall is that he wants an absured $10 million AAV in each of those 8 years, which would tally up to make it quite expensive.

First Nylander And Matthews, Then Samsonov

The supposed plan for new GM Brad Treliving in his first offseason with the team is to lock up Nylander as well as Auston Matthews on their respective extensions, with Nylander reportedly expected to come to an agreement first.

After those extensions are done, the focus needs to be moved over to the winding down time that they have to resign starting goaltender Ilya Samsonov as well. Samsonov is set to hit arbitration in the time frame of July 20 and August 3rd, so the Leafs are in a bit of a rush.

With a lot of agreements to be made and contracts to be signed, there is not going to be much of a break for Treliving. We will see how the situations with each of the respective players develop.
