The Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe called out Max Domi for crossing the line during the first game against the Boston Bruins.

The Leafs sustained a terrible 5-1 loss in Boston on Saturday night. According to Auston Matthews, one of the things that cost the Leafs the game were the numerous penalties that led to two powerplay goals by Jake DeBrusk.

"I mean, I can think of a couple things. Obviously, too many penalties. I think. you give a team like that many opportunities on the man advantage, they're going to capitalize. And, you know, I thought started out pretty good game, and then, you know, just little mistakes. They're a very patient team and they executed on the mistakes that we made. It's a game of inches.

You know, we get a taste of what the series is all about here in this game. And, you know, we just continue to elevate our game and continue, continue to put our best foot forward and get better."

Head coach Sheldon Keefe agreed with him. After the game, in his press conference, he even threw Max Domi under the bus, saying that his slashing penalty was over the line:

"Keefe laments careless stick penalties and says Domi slash crossed the line."

If you missed it, here's what he's referring to:

Getting under the referees' radar in game one is never a good idea, especially going into a series that promises to be such a physical one.

There's no doubt that the Leafs will need to tighten their ship for game two.
