Sheldon Keefe commented on his future as head coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs in his end-of-season interview.

In what looks like the most uncertain time in Keefe's coaching days in Toronto, the coach appeared in front of the cameras to answer questions from reporters.

Many interesting things came out of this press conference. He said that his future in the organization is out of his control, but that he believes in himself, that he loves coaching the Leafs and that he believes he'll win in Toronto:

Sheldon Keefe says it's out of his control if the #leafs management and ownership decides to bring him back next season.

"I believe in myself greatly. I love coaching the Toronto Maple Leafs. Now more than ever, I believe I will win and our team will win."

"Keefe on his confidence level about getting to see this through as coach of the #Leafs: "I'm in the coaching business... That decision is out of my control."

The coach also took responsability for his team's failure in the first round:

"Sheldon Keefe on his job security: "It's out of my control."

Asserts that he believes in himself and Maple Leafs' ability to win. Takes accountability for team not meeting expectations.

Later, he opened up about Mitch Marner, who's been under the spotlight in the playoffs for his underwhelming performances:

"Sheldon Keefe: "Mitch is an exceptional player. He wants to win. He wants to win here in Toronto."
