Sheldon Keefe confirms Auston Matthews will play in tonight's game
The already clinched Toronto Maple Leafs have already figured out their first round matchup, which is the Boston Bruins. Therefore Game 82 tonight versus the Tampa Bay Lightning will most likely be a rest game for many Leafs star players, well not Auston Matthews, as according to head coach Sheldon Keefe, he will be playing in his quest for goal number 70.
Last night the Toronto Maple Leafs blew a 2-0 lead against their presumed first round opponents, the Florida Panthers, who eventually ended up losing 4-2. Their new opponent will be the Boston Bruins, as game 1 is set for Saturday. Keep in mind the Bruins have won their last 7 outings versus the Blue and White.
Unfortuatnely, Auston Matthews wasn't able to pop in goal number 70 last night, therefore tonight will be his final chance to do something no one has done in the 2000's, hit 70 goals in one season!
