Jack Eichel Starts Unusual New Tradition After Dominant Performance
Witnessing a player rummaging through a trash bin during a game is quite an odd sight. However, understanding the reason behind it makes it less unsettling.
In fact, after scoring a hat trick on Sunday, Eichel wanted to hold onto a memento in the form of caps tossed onto the ice by fans!
Eichel later shared what Bruce Cassidy had said to the team.
"Butch (Bruce Cassidy) was saying that he wants to start a new tradition that if you get a hat-trick you take one of the hats and put it up... I was looking in the container and it had nice hockey laces on it so I grabbed it. It's not a bad hat... but I'm not going to put it in my house,"
