Ethan Bear leaving the Capitals for an indefinite period
Tonight the Washington Capitals have announced that defenseman Ethan Bear will leave the team indefinitely. He will be entering the NHLPA Player Assistance Program.
Multiple reports have confirmed the surprising news that Washington Capitals veteran defenseman Ethan Bear is leaving the team. This comes as a shock as Ethan Bear has been in the lineup and there had been no hints that this was coming.
Ethan Bear will be away from the #caps for an indefinite period while receiving care from the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program.
Ethan Bear is the latest in a long list of players who have entered the Players Assistance Program this season. He is also not the first Capitals player to enter the program either as Evgeny Kuznetsov entered earlier this season before being traded to the Carolina Hurricanes.
This as odd as it sounds likely is a good sign that the program is helpful for players in need and building a good reputation amongst players. As of now, there is not an estimation on when Ethan Bear will return.
The Washington Capitals will next play tomorrow against the Toronto Maple Leafs. This will be the first time we see the Capitals lineup without Ethan Bear in it.
