Toronto Maple Leafs Announced Two Roster Moves To Fill For O'Reilly and Tavares
The Toronto Maple Leafs' recent injury troubles continue with the announcement that newly acquired forward Ryan O'Reilly will be out for at least the next 10 games due to a broken finger. O'Reilly sustained the injury while blocking a shot with his left hand during the team's loss to the Vancouver Canucks.
Adding to the Leafs' woes is the news that team captain John Tavares will also be out for an undisclosed injury. While the team has not provided any details on Tavares' injury, his absence is sure to be felt on the ice, as he is one of the team's top scorers and a key leader.
Maple Leafs Announced Two Roster Moves
To help fill the void left by these injuries, the Leafs have called up Pontus Holmberg and Alex Steeves from their AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies.
Alex Steeves had 46 points (23G, 23A) in 58 games in the AHL this season.
Holmberg had 11 points in 22 games with the Marlies and 13 points in 36 games with the Maple Leafs this season.
