11-Year-Old Hockey Player Honored by Community Following Tragic Passing
The Dartmouth Whalers are a part of the Atlantic Canada Hockey organization, and like any sports organization, they work together to help those in need. This week, they banded together to help one of their own.
The Whalers announced that on February 6th, they lost a teammate, to an unfortunate battle with cancer.
The DWMHA would like to express our sincere condolences to the family, friends, and teammates of Brady Richard, who courageously lost his fight against cancer early Monday morning.
Our thoughts are with the Richard family at this time.
This is heartbreaking and something no one wants to hear about someone so young. Brady was a part of the U11 program in the area and throughout his battle with cancer, battled it publicly with grace.
As seen above, the Halifax Mooseheads took part in showing their support for Brady.
The outpouring of support for Brady and his family is another testament to the sport of hockey. The community coming together is something you won't see on major networks but is beautiful in practice.
In honor of Brady's passing, the family is asking for donations to be made to the IWK Hospital in Halifax.
Our condolences go out to those impacted by Brady's passing.
