Recently, a trade proposal involving the Montreal Canadiens' Jake Allen has surfaced, as reported by Patrick Beauséjour of Fanadiens.com. Stephane Laberge suggested via his Twitter account that the Habs trade Allen to Vegas in exchange for forward Nicolas Roy.
Roy, a fourth-round pick of the Hurricanes in 2015, could be a valuable acquisition for Vegas, excelling in the faceoff circle and having a solid season with 23 points in 52 games. Additionally, with Chandler Stephenson, Jack Eichel, and William Karlsson already established at center, Roy may have a better chance of getting more ice time in Montreal than in Vegas, as he is also a Quebec native.
While this is merely a proposal and not a rumor reported by a journalist, it is certainly worth considering for the future of the Golden Knights organization.
With Samuel Montembeault performing well, despite Allen's contract extension before the season started, his value may never be as high as it is now. Vegas may want to take a chance on this potential trade offer.
