Auston Matthews has struggled since returning from offseason wrist surgery. Matthews has played in three games for the Leafs this season and has yet to register a point, a goal, or an assist, while avoiding the penalty box.
I suppose no one is pleased with this start. The players do not want to be subjected to constant criticism this season, but that is the current norm.
On Monday, Matthews reacted to critics of the Maple Leafs by stating that the club will not be fazed by the outside noise.
"The noise and the panic on the outside can't shake us," said Matthews
Let's give the Leafs a chance.
Tampa: 21st in the NHL
Toronto: 22nd in the NHL
Colorado: 25th in the NHL
Vegas: 29th in the NHL
Guess what? All these teams are elite and will likely be top 10, if not top 5, by the end of the year.
It's only 6 games
