It will be fascinating to see whether this causes further postponements for the Canadiens, who are slated to resume play this week. According to NHL insider Pierre LeBrun, the club is still set to fly out to Tampa Bay, Florida later today, at 2 p.m., but that could change now.
The Habs announced on Monday that five players had been added to the NHL's Covid protocol list, along with one of their coaches. The Habs announced today that four defenseman, Ben Chiarot, Joel Edmundson, Jeff Petry, and Chris Wideman, had been placed on the league's Covid protocol list, with veteran goaltender Jake Allen being the fifth.
LeBrun said at the time that testing for both teams might effect whether or not they play on Tuesday, and with six additional cases in one day, you have to imagine the league will at least check before allowing the Canadiens to fly into America.
