The NHL has launched a new investigation into Kane, preventing him from signing new contract.
According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the NHL has told teams it is reviewing the procedure of Evander Kane crossing the border from the United States into Canada on December 29."
«Kane tested positive for COVID on Dec. 21, and flew to Vancouver on the 29th. In termination notice from SJ, it was alleged he did not have proper medical clearance. NHL is now doing full investigation.
«This will likely prevent a Kane signing in the short term, as teams await the results.»
While there have been speculations that Kane could sign with a new team soon, this will certainly hold things down for the time being.
