Who can't wait to see Mike Hoffman's impact on the Habs next season? Especially since he'll be a power play specialist and score key goals like Tyler Toffoli did last year.
Marc Bergevin also didn't have to spend a lot of money with a 3-year, $4.5 million contract. His arrival in Montreal has boosted the players' spirits, and they will warmly accept him. Several new teammates must have written to him following his signing, but defenseman Ben Chiarot was the first to welcome him.
In response to fan concerns, Hoffman said the two players live near to each other during the summer and occasionally play golf together. They even saw each other the day he arrived in Montreal.
Sure, Hoffman isn't the best teammate in the NHL, but you have to give the runner a chance and see what he offers to the Tricolore. After the scandal of his wife against Erik Karlsson's family in Ottawa, we don't hear about him anymore. Despite his two seasons with the Florida Panthers.
In short, Chiarot likes him and other players will too. Hoffman is aware that his every move with the Habs will be scrutinised. He has lived it for 7 years with the Senators and may use that experience to behave effectively in public.
