Bo Horvat Gives His Vote for the Next Captain in Vancouver
Bo Horvat is officially out of the picture in Vancouver. The deal is done - he's a New York Islander.
With the trade complete, the Canucks will have to choose a new captain. Head coach Rick Tocchet announced earlier today that both Quinn Hughes and Elias Pettersson will receive letters on their jerseys from here on out.
With this news in mind, former captain Horvat gave the media his vote for his successor.
While Quinn Hughes is developing into a #1 defenseman, Horvat's vote is going to Pettersson.
There are obvious parallels between the two - Horvat was 24 when he was given the C, Pettersson is 24 right now. They are equally both top centermen.
No matter which direction management chooses for the next captain, a new era in Vancouver is beginning.
