Bombshell Reveals That Nobody Wants to Acquire Patrick Kane
For the first time since he was drafted first overall in 2007, the illustrious showtime, Patrick Kane is on the trade block.
This in itself is crazy, as it's hard to imagine Kane in any jersey other than one of the Blackhawks, but what's even crazier is that nobody seems to want him.
The one team tied to him for months has been the New York Rangers, but new reports from Larry Brooks of the New York Post indicate that they no longer believe Kane is the right fit for them.
His asking price of a first round pick, as well as a top-end prospect is simply too much.
Essentially, the logic of many teams in the flat cap world is that they can acquire a, while less flashy, cap-controlled player such as Travis Konecny or Jake McCabe. They may not be showtime, but at least they'll stick around for a few years.
The Blackhawks have a difficult decision to make: disappoint fans with a less than ideal return on a trade, or keep their franchise player a little longer.
It will be interesting to see what happens.
