Alex Ovechkin Reveals His Plans for Sidney Crosby After Retirement
While they've been rivals on the ice for nearly two decades, Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin have developed a friendship off the ice.
The respective first overall picks in 2004 and 2005 have both had illustrious careers, with nearly 1500 career points a piece. Ovechkin is headed towards holding the NHL all-time goal scoring record, while Crosby has captained the Penguins to three Stanley Cups.
Now in the last years of their careers, Ovechkin was asked what his plans were with Sidney Crosby once they are retired.
When me and him are going to be retired, we're going to have a couple of beers together.
The Pens/Caps rivalry won't ever be as passionate as it once was when Ovi and Sid are off pursuing new chapters of their lives, but the real memory is the friends that were made along the way.
