Elliotte Friedman has claimed that the Calgary Flames are interested in Montreal Canadiens defenceman Ben Chiarot.
He also mentioned the Toronto Maple Leafs, Florida Panthers, and St. Louis Blues, but we already covered that. So let's just focus on the Flames this time.
The Flames are currently in an intriguing position. They are now 18-12-6 and fifth in the Pacific Division. With seven games in hand, they are only five points behind the third-place Anaheim Ducks. They are also six games behind the second-place Los Angeles Kings. So they're still in the postseason hunt and should easily catch them.
