In an interview with BPM Sports, the Montreal Canadiens' general manager told a tasty anecdote about an upcoming short holiday.
His former client and Colorado Avalanche player Alex Newhook invited him to come celebrate his Stanley Cup win in Newfoundland.
At first, the Habs GM declined the invitation, most likely because of his workload.
He finally bought a plane ticket to join his family. Why did he do it?
Because when he was negotiating with the Flames for the Sean Monahan trade, his daughter had a premonition.
She seriously mentioned to her father that if he was going to join his sons in Newfoundland, the Habs would draft generational player Connor Bedard in the next draft.
In true superstitious fashion, that's when Hughes bought his plane ticket and will be attending Alex Newhook's Stanley Cup celebrations today.
