According to Darren Dreger, Rielly's next contract will be around 9M$. Can the Leafs afford that? How can they lock in 4 players at 40M$ and if they resign Rielly at 9M$ that's 5 players at 50M. In my opinion, that will definitely not work out.
Dreger on TSN1050 on Morgan Rielly's next contract: "I'm hesitant to throw out numbers, but if we're speculating today it's got to be north of 8, right? So that one's going to be interesting to watch unfold, and north of 8 would be a hometown discount".
I am predicting that Morgan Rielly will not stay a Maple Leaf, only time will tell.
