While there were a lot of pre-season games being played this weekend, two regular season duels between the Nashville Predators and the San Jose Sharks were being played in Prague, Czech Republic.
Everything went well according to the NHL, but according to Czech legend Dominik Hasek, there was a huge lack of respect from Gary Bettman and the NHL.
« Over the weekend, two NHL games were played in Prague. The NHL leadership did not respect our MAF's position that Russian players should not play. Until the current NHL leaders resign and the new ones apologize to our country, the NHL will no longer be welcome in the Czech Republic." - Dominik Hasek
What you need to know is that Russian players Yakov Trenin (Preds) and Evgeny Svechnikov (Sharks) took part in both games and it was very badly perceived by Dominik Hasek and the whole country.
