Sidney Crosby missed Game 6 of their first-round series against the New York Rangers.
He was sidelined after being hit to the head by Jacob Trouba in Game 5 in New York and undergoing concussion procedures.
The Athletic's Rossi revealed on the air that it was Penguins' management that did not allow Crosby to play in Game 6.
He had passed a concussion test and wanted to play in Game 6 but was told no by the general manager,» Rossi said during the interview. «I'm not too sure how much juice he has with this management group.»
Rossi maintains that the decision was not only made by Rob Hextall, but rather by the general manager and front office personnel.
The report was blown out, and after the Penguins were eliminated, head coach Mike Sullivan had to clarify that Crosby had not been cleared by physicians.
Just false news spread around by a clueless reporter.
