Insider Elliotte Friedman stated that many clubs would be interested in Chiarot if he became available, and that the Habs could get at least a first round selection in return for his services.
When he was a UFA before joining Montreal, he claimed the Toronto Maple Leafs were interested in him. Still, the Edmonton Oilers are reportedly one of his top targets this season.
