Calgary Flames General Manager Brad Treliving met with the media today following his team's monster trade with the Panthers, sending Matthew Tkachuk to Florida.
Treliving was not happy to hear some of the derogatory comments about his city.
"The city has taken some hits. Frankly, it pisses me off," Treliving told reporters Saturday. This is a wonderful community. We have a top team in the league. People have a right to choose where they want to go, but as a community and an organization, we don't have to apologize for anything."
As for the shock of losing two star players in a row, Treliving says it is doing what it can.
"You can get into a fetal position and suck your thumb. Or you can face the situation. We're going to face the music."
When asked by reporters, Treliving insisted that Tkachuk's decision to leave Calgary had nothing to do with Gaudreau signing elsewhere.
