Former Chicago Blackhawks prospect Mikael Hakkarainen has announced his retirement from hockey at the age of just 24.
According to several sources close to the matter, the young player is suffering from a congenital heart disease. All indications are that this is a serious symptom of COVID-19.
Mikael Hakkarainen, the 139th overall pick in the 2018 draft, was traded to Las Vegas in the trade that sent Marc-Andre Fleury to Chicago.
We wish him a speedy recovery.
