According to Chris Johnston, the Montreal Canadiens could be the opponent of the Edmonton Oilers in 2023, as part of the Heritage Classic.
« The Edmonton Oilers will host the famous Heritage Classic outdoor game in 2023, and their opponents could be the Montreal Canadiens." - Chris Johnston
And why the Habs? Remember in 2003, when the CH and the Oilers met for the first duel of the Heritage Classic. With this future duel, we would celebrate the 20th anniversary of this game.
For now, the announcement only concerns the Oilers, but it would not be surprising to learn that the Canadiens will be part of the dance.
To be continued.
