Habs Better Or Worse With Dvorak?

The Habs let a guy go who may or may not have been a future star.
The question is whether they made a net gain or loss in this series of movements. While the Hurricanes loved Kotkaniemi, the Habs weren't sure what he'd be. They weren't willing to commit to him as a second-line center, but they got Dvorak to be in that role. The next few years we will know if they upgraded or got worse. I have a feeling Bergevin is going all out to try to win a Stanley Cup with this team.
«Christian Dvorak looked like he turned a corner in 2019-20 to become a productive top six center, but his play greatly fell off in 2021 once he stopped playing with Conor Garland. An interesting gamble trading a first for a team unlikely to make the playoffs this season.»
Verdict:
Habs lost Danault and Kotkaniemi but added Dvorak and Hoffman. In my opinion, they are slightly better.
