John Klingberg messed up real bad! After refusing to re-sign a contract in Dallas, he went on and signed a one-year deal with the Anaheim Ducks for 7M$.
According to insider Jeff Marek, the defenseman turned down a 8 years deal for $7 Million AAV.
Jeff Marek said Friday that he believes the Stars offered Klingberg 8 years at $7 million AAV earlier in the year, but Klingberg's camp wanted closer to 8x8 (which Marek reported at the time). If his agent told him not to take that, you can pretty well understand why he moved on.
