Jack Eichel skated with his new team for the first time Tuesday, and when asked by the media how he was feeling after after his skate he couldn't help to take a friendly jab at the Buffalo Sabres.
Jack said " I can't believe how good I feel and to think I went through all this trouble for this? I'm glad I stood up for myself and what I believe was best for my body.»
After taking a shot at the Sabres who didn't want Jack to have the surgery he wanted, Jack also joked saying "he would play right now if the Knights let him".
He also added: "I'm in a great place now, and I'm very happy that I stood up for what I believed in. At the end of the day, it all kind of panned out the way I hoped it would.»
It seems all worked out for the best for both teams. In the end the Sabres got some new players to their club and Jack got the surgery he wanted and a fresh new start with his new team when he's healed.
