Leah Hextall is one of the most hated people in the sports industry. Some of this hate is warranted, while some very much isn't. This time however, it's warranted.

Hextall Called Out for Bad Call

Leah Hextall, a broadcaster for ESPN, and cousin of the famous Ron Hextall, and niece of the legendary Dennis Hextall is loved by many.

Apart from the nepotism that feels rather obvious, Hextall often asks tasteless questions, and many believe she does not have much of a grasp on the sport.

If there's any sort of unwritten code in hockey broadcasting, it's to respect legends.

Some legendary calls in the league, such as Joe Bowen's Holy Mackinaw!, and the forever classic Off the Floor and On the Board!, are pieces of history that should be honoured.

Hextall didn't get the memo, as she shamelessly used the call of legend John Forslund hey hey what do you say during a broadcast:

She is immediately called out by co-broadcast member Eddie Olczyk for not crediting Forslund.

"If you are going to imitate somebody, like on a goal call, just make sure you give that person credit. That's fair. That's the way you do it. Those are the ground rules."

Hopefully Hextall learns her lesson here, and doesn't mess up like this again.

Do better, Leah Hextall.
