A major development could push the Avalanche to trade sooner. Their second centre Evan Rodrigues suffered a lower body injury in Wednesday's game against the Vancouver Canucks.
According to Pierre LeBrun, it's a real possibility to see Monahan in Colorado. It remains to be seen if Kent Hughes will make a move in the next few days.
Monahan has 14 points, including five goals so far this season.
