In their most recent column on The Athletic, Marc Antoine Godin and Arpon Basu compared Cole Caufield's situation to that of Jason Robertson of the Dallas Stars.
According to the two reporters, Caufield is expected to sign a comparable contract for the next four seasons.
The price tag? $7.75 million annually.
If the Habs were able to sign Suzuki for eight seasons, they absolutely must do the same with Caufield. The two are literally inseparable.
Last year, Robertson had 79 points in 74 games. With 21 points in 21 games so far this campaign, Caufield is on an 82-point pace this season.
