Former Montreal Canadiens head coach Dominique Ducharme was in the 98.5 FM studios last night.
In an interview with Yanick Bouchard on Amateurs de sports, Ducharme spoke about several subjects.
He talked about how special it is not to prepare his team for the upcoming season.
« It's different, especially with the season coming up... When you look at the last five, seven years with Hockey Canada. It's a change of pace, but it's never happened to me before. I enjoy every day, but I don't want to get used to it. »
Obviously, he is eager to find the next opportunity.
« I can't wait to do it again.... To work as a team with the other coaches. It's in our blood. »
Ducharme says he has no regrets about his association with the CH.
« No, I have no regrets, because I gave it my all. At the same time, when we finished the playoffs last year, everything was positive. We were in the Stanley Cup finals. But even then, you always look back to see what you could change or improve. That's the nature of being a coach. »
And did the Habs make it to the Stanley Cup finals because of the weakness of the Canadian division?
« We went to the Stanley Cup finals. Sixteen teams had a chance to make the finals when we started the playoffs and we were in the bottom two. And the Canadian division led to other challenges than the New York area division. »
