Veteran defenceman Zdeno Chara is still without a contract for next season and all indications are that he is nearing a well-deserved retirement.
At 6'9", Chara is the tallest player in the NHL.
Ranked 127th among North American prospects by NHL Central Scouting, Jack Sparkes is 6' 8 1⁄4", at just 18 years old.
"There's more than one scout who has exclaimed to me, 'He's got Chara's size, but he skates better than him!" - Rich Ricci, Sparkes head coach
