The former head coach of the Montreal Canadiens, Michel Therrien, created a controversy when he arrived in Montreal by banning the famous Triple Low Five of P.K. Subban and Carey Price.

Once and for all, he explained yesterday, on TVA Sports, the reasons behind it.

« There had been changes before the campaign. The 2011-2012 season had been extremely difficult. Marc Bergevin arrived in Montreal and hired me as coach. Then I chose my staff. For us, we had to change the culture of the team. We wanted to remove the individualistic side of each player and institute a collective concept." - Michel Therrien

As for the team concept, the idea came from the New York Rangers.

« If we remember correctly, 2013 was the year that clubs started to gather at center ice to celebrate their wins with their fans. I first saw this when the Rangers did it. I thought it was an amazing idea. I really thought it was a great idea. I talked to the captain (Brian Gionta) about it and he thought it was a good idea too." - Michel Therrien

It is from this moment that the players of the team thank the fans after a victory.
