I'm ready to accept that the NHL won't be going to China for the Olympics
The NHL had hoped that all COVID-19-related difficulties would be resolved before the 2020-21 season.
The NHL possibly pulling out of the 2022 Winter Olympics. With the Olympics still an option and clubs healthy and able to play their schedule, the league has circulated a message to all 32 teams on future changes.
The NHL is requesting that all club-sponsored holiday parties be cancelled, according to Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli. They are also instructing all players and personnel to avoid public autograph sessions, public speaking engagements, and public charity activities until further notice.
It's a shame this has to happen, but the pandemic hasn't ended. While some, including players, may be outraged by the news, the league is merely trying to keep the season moving forward.
