New Report Reveals Many Players Still Take Part in a Disgusting Habit
NHL athletes are generally the pinnacle of health. Working out hours each day to be able to put it all out on the ice night after night.
No average joe can make it to the highest league in the world, so it came as a massive surprise when a report from Mike Russo came out revealing that a large number of players still smoked during intermissions.
In a player interview conducted by Michael Russo which detailed what happens during NHL intermissions, players revealed that they still know «a good amount» of their colleagues that smoke during every intermission.
Russo stated that while it was much more common in the older eras, there are still several players that take smoke breaks between periods.
The players interviewed did not disclose who the smokers were.
While many people still do smoke, NHL players don't really fit the archetype.
Smoking is much more prominent in Europe, so it is safe to assume there are quite a few who have carried the habit from youth. We have players drinking Dr. Pepper behind the bench, so we can't be too surprised!
