The New York Rangers have been having a great season in the metropolitan division. After missing the playoffs the past five seasons, the Rangers don't want to just make the playoffs, they want to take a run at the Stanley Cup.
Sources say Rangers GM Chris Drury is very interested in acquiring Dallas Stars Joe Pavelski. Pavelski is 36 but can still put up points. He has 19 goals, and 48 points with the Dallas Stars this season.
Pavelski is in the final of his contract and is a pending UFA at the end of the season. The Rangers believe Pavelski would help add some secondary offence which teams need to be successful in the playoffs.
