Because of the pandemic, the NHL's individual honors presentation has changed significantly. The last gala was in 2019 and since then, the league has been handing out its awards during the playoffs.
It seems that the NHL wants to honor these trophies again when it will, according to what Elliotte Friedman reports, do a one-hour special this season.
The awards show will take place between two games of the Stanley Cup Final, in the city that will host that game. It will either be before game number 3 or between games number 3 and 4.
This announcement definitely does not sit well with NHL fans. They don't understand why the emphasis during the finals is not on the games. It is without counting that the players, during the final, will not be able to fully savor their honor.
