Shane Wright has officially been sent down to AHL Coachella Valley by the Seattle Kraken. To be eligible for this move, he had to be scratched for five straight games; not an easy feat when an entire fanbase is demanding him to play.

Earlier in the season, he was scratched for four games, but when Jared McCann was injured, the Kraken had no choice but to change their plans. They decided to resume the five-game stretch in late October, and it appears they meticulously planned Wright's send-down time.

On the 32 Thoughts podcast, Jeff Marek explained Wright's situation. He is allowed to spend 14 days in the AHL once he is sent down, and then he will be called back up to Seattle. There is then only one NHL game prior to the start of the World Juniors Championship Tournament.

Which one NHL game comes between these two events? Seattle's first game against Montreal - Shane Wright and Juraj Slafkovsky's first matchup in the NHL.

He comes back to Seattle on Dec. 4, and then if they're going to send him to the World Junior Hockey Championships, there is one game in between the end of the conditioning stint and the World Junior camp, and that game is against the Montreal Canadiens and you're gonna want to know that Shane Wright will want to play very much against the Canadiens

Wright will want to show the Habs that they made a mistake by passing over him on draft day. This could be the beginning of the revenge tour we've been waiting for from Wright.

It will be exciting to watch the top picks matchup for the first time.
