Pierre LeBrun and Dave Poulin explained why the Tampa Bay Lightning paid so much, two first round picks and two young players, for Brandon Hagel.
"Brandon Hagel has one of the best contracts in the NHL. He's signed through the end of the season, along with two others, at just $1.5 million. We should add that he will be a restricted free agent for two years after his contract." - Pierre LeBrun
Here's Dave Poulin's explanation:
"None of the great franchises of the last 25 years have managed to win three consecutive Stanley Cups, and now Julien Brisebois and the Lightning have a chance to do it!" - Dave Poulin
