With the signing of Johnny Gaudreau in Columbus, the first player to have stars in his eyes was forward Patrik Laine. The Finn was very happy to have an elite player join him.
So it was with great excitement that Laine began his season, in a duel between the Blue Jackets and Hurricanes on Wednesday night. However, things didn't turn out as planned.
Indeed, a few minutes after scoring a great goal, the number 29 didn't absorb a routine contact on the edge of the boards and had to leave the game with an upper body injury (arm).
We still don't know if he'll have to miss the game long term, but one thing is for sure, it looked very painful.
