Paul Bissonnette is one of the most popular NHL reporters. Bissonnette, who used to be an enforcer in the NHL, has become a popular hockey personality who is never scared of speaking his mind. Bissonnette is never afraid to share his opinions, no matter how unpopular they are.

Bissonnette is furious

On one of the most recent episodes of the Spittin' Chicklets Podcast, Bissonnette commented his thoughts on how linesmen are breaking up fights too quickly, and who he believes is behind this decision to limit fights.

"If you're a f***ing NHL linesman and you're listening to this right now - STOP STOPPING FIGHTS. F*** off. If Kim Jong Bettman is telling them to not allow them to fight, on behalf of me tell him to f*** off. That is what's selling the game, that is what separates our game from the other major sports. And if you take that away, it's f***ing stupid. Allow it. You say everybody on their feet, you saw everybody online and any casual hockey fan, all of a sudden paying attention to that f***ing hockey game. So what did they do? They don't let them fight."

During his rant, Ryan Whitney added that he believes that Bettman is telling linesmen to not allow players to fight. It has been evident that lately, linesmen are stepping in more frequently to stop players from fighting.

The number of fights this season are down, rumours are beginning to spread that the league is going to attempt to decrease body checking. The NHL seems to be appealing towards a younger audience, while abandoning the audience that helped grow the game with fights and physical plays.
