It looks like Philadelphia Flyers GM Chuck Fletcher has a plan in place to replace the possible departure of captain Claude Giroux.
Chuck Fletcher and Flyers advisor Bobby Clarke have their eyes set on Calgary Flames star Jonny Gaudreau.
Though no official release that the Flyers and their captain have parted ways, sources say the talks of a contract extension have ended it's believed that Claude Giroux will indeed hit the free agent market this off-season.
Bobby Clarke is believed to be the one to mention going after Johnny Hockey to Flyers GM Chuck Fletcher because Bobby Clarke has always been a fan of Gaudreau's play in Calgary.
Gaudreau is in the final year of his current contract that pays him $6,750,000 dollars annually, and is a pending UFA at the end of the season.
Johnny Gaudreau is 28, he was drafted in the 4th round of the 2011 NHL draft 104th overall. Gaudreau has played in 560 games with the Calgary Flames, scoring 187 goals and 359 assists for a total of 546 points.
