Ottawa Senators goaltender, Anton Forsberg, is expected to make a comeback in the next 2 to 3 months, according to a statement from head coach, DJ Smith.
The announcement comes after Forsberg was previously ruled out indefinitely due to tears in the MCL of both of his knees. Fortunately, he will not require any surgical intervention.
The injury occurred during a game against the Edmonton Oilers, when Forsberg was caught in the crossfire of a goalmouth scramble. Defenceman, Travis Hamonic, accidentally pushed Edmonton's Zach Hyman onto the goaltender, resulting in Forsberg being carried off the ice on a stretcher.
This season, the 30-year-old Forsberg has made 28 appearances, boasting an impressive record of 11 wins, 11 losses, and 2 ties. He has also maintained a solid .902 save percentage, making him a valuable player for the Senators.
