Maple Leafs Already Making Moves Early Monday Morning
With the trade market already heating up, the likelihood of a trade continues to grow for the Toronto Maple Leafs. It's never good to be in a position where all of the big names are gone and there's no more leverage, so Kyle Dubas is likely motivated to get something done.
This morning, the Leafs made some small moves, sending Pontus Holmberg, Alex Steeves, and Joseph Woll down to the AHL.
In a flat cap league, this is a clear attempt to accrue more cap space prior to the deadline, which means the Leafs are likely looking at taking on new salary.
They are very much in reach of acquiring a guy like Jake McCabe if they chose to go in that direction, or they could surprise us and go for a forward like Travis Konecny.
Either way, moves are coming in Toronto, and soon.
