Despite Toronto's awful start to the 2022-23 campaign, going 4-4-2 and losing to some of the weakest teams in the league, head coach Sheldon Keefe still believes he is worthy of keeping his job.

While his players have appeared to have given up on him at certain points, including an outburst from Mitch Marner who had to go to the room to break a stick out of rage, when asked in interview, they speak his praise.

In an interview with The Score, Marner appeared to think very highly of his coach.

We're a hockey team that wants to win games.

Keefe has done an unbelievable job with this team when he's come in and done what he's done.

If you look at our numbers, we've really improved on a lot of things.

It's been a lot of fun to play for him. For us, it's just making sure it starts with our effort, accountability, and once we get those two things going, I think we are really going to be moving in the right direction.

Keefe equally spoke to NHL.com's Dave McCarthy about his focus at this time:

My focus solely is just to get our team to play better

I think an area we can improve on the most is how connected we are, how we execute coming out of our zone and getting through the neutral zone and just getting on the attack from there.

We will see what happens with Keefe, but it appears something needs to give to appease the fans and to right the ship in Toronto.
