San Jose finally ends the Evander Kane saga yesterday with the termination of his contract. We have some good news and some bad news coming ahead about Kane's situation.
The bad news first.
On Monday morning, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman confirmed that the Sharks had actually cancelled Kane's contract, devastating news for Kane, who now stands to lose a whopping $22,885,000 in real money as a result of the decision.
The good news now!
According to expert insider, Eliotte Friedman, Kane will potentially get some of that money back, if the NHLPA files a grievance on his behalf.
Also, according to NHL analyst Pierre LeBrun, Kane's agent, Dan Milstein, has had a lot of attention as an unrestricted free agent. As a result of the increased rivalry for Kane's services, the price of his next deal as a free agent will rise.
Kane's next contract, according to LeBrun, will be for the balance of the current NHL season, which means he might return sooner rather than later.
