It's been a frustrating season for the Canadiens. Let's be honest losing isn't fun. It's been even more frustrating for Montreal Canadiens defenceman Jeff Petry.

Petry had alot of pressure placed on his shoulders with captain Shea Weber out this season. Not to blame it all on him, however he hasn't been the player this season the Canadiens we're hoping for.

This had to be frustrating to Petry who's having the worst season of his career.

The breaking point appeared to be Saturday's game, when Edmonton Oilers Zack Kassian knocked over Canadiens goaltender Samuel Montembeault.

Jeff Petry was the closest Habs player near the net when it happened and did nothing.

He was later criticize by fans and media demanding his trade.

Sportsnet Elliotte Friedman says, "Jeff Petry has indeed asked for a trade while GM Kent Hughes seems more than willing to accommodate."

Hughes though made it clear that while he's willing to accommodate, the trade has to benefit the Canadiens not just Petry.
